"ST. MARTIN SUNSET"
The setting sun was shining directly into the camera when snapped, and as such, the small sailboat silhouetted against the sun was not visible until the image was downloaded from the camera. It was shot in the Caribbean, from a hillside just outside of Grand Case on the French side of the island of St. Martin.

"AMERICAN FLAG"
Someone placed a small American flag in a hole in a telephone pole. The wind apparently lashed at the flag for days, but no-one removed it. It seemed indestructible.
